The professional Hydo/microderabrasioncourse is a shortcertificate program. The course is designed to update and upskill aesthetic practitioners who are interested in introducing hydro/micro in their practice. Participants will acquire a range of skills and knowledge to perform safe and effective treatments with microdermabrasion device.

Course Instructions:

Some modules may refer to knowledge learned in earlier courses. Successful completion will include:

  • Pre–course compulsory reflective activity
  • Successful completion of the Knowledge and Application of Knowledge exam questions
  • Post-course compulsory reflective activity

Once the requirement is complete a certificate will be issued.

Delivery method:

The professional micro/hydrocourse is designed to provide online theory for the added benefits. There is one module in the microdermabrasion course program. The theory of the course can be completed in 4 weeks and one week is allocated for the exam. Cement your knowledge in the accompanying workshop with hands-on training, demonstrations, and expert guidance in a small group setting.

Course Outlines:

  1. Contextualize light-based therapy for the use in aesthetic placement
  2. Discuss the mechanism of action of microdermabrasion and hydro.
  3. Understand the wound healing phases in context with microdermabrasion.
  4. Apply knowledge to various skin conditions.
  5. Understand the wound healing phases in context with LED
  6. Discuss the application of combining modalities for best practice.

Assessment requirements:

There is one online examination requirement for this course and a pre/post reflective activity.

  1. 30 knowledge questions worth 50 per cent. The overall pass mark is 80 per cent.
  2. Complete the pre-course compulsory reflective activity before commencing the modules.
  3. Post-course compulsory reflective activity will be available after the completion of the modules and assessment.
